Past travel highlights include sea kayaking with orcas in the San Juan Islands, summiting Half Dome in California, goat herding in France, and planting papaya saplings in Costa Rica. Since becoming a San Francisco transplant over four years ago, she’s made it her mission to explore every trail, park, highway and byway in the West. She writes about her discoveries closer to home on SensuousSF — a blog that explores San Francisco through the senses.

Alison has a graduate degree in Art and Museum Studies from Georgetown University and has written about the nonprofit arts world through her fellowships with California Association of Museums, ArtsFwd, and Emerging Arts Professionals SF/BA.
